Daria Saville (née Gavrilova) is an Australian professional tennis player who reached a career-high ranking of 20 in August 2017.
Up until 2015, the Moscow-born right-hander represented Russia prior to emigrating to Australia. After emigrating to Australia, Daria immediately helped her adopted country to Hopman Cup glory in 2016 alongside Nick Kyrgios.
Nicknamed ‘Dasha’, she has won one singles title (2017 Connecticut Open) and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as a further four singles and two doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
In December 2021, Dasha tied the knot with her long-time partner and fellow Aussie tennis pro Luke Saville.
Dasha returned to the court in 2022 after ongoing injuries kept her on the sidelines for multiple years. Dasha stunned the tennis world in her return season, rising over 1,000 spots to see herself back inside the top 50 of the WTA rankings, and earn a nomination for the WTA Comeback Player of the Year Award.
Unfortunately, Dasha's remarkable year was cut short when she tore her ACL at the back end of the 2022 season. In a display of resilience and sheer determination, Dasha once again returned from injury midway through the 2023 season and is on track to making it back to the top of the game.
Away from the courts, Dasha has developed a large and dedicated social media following, particularly on TikTok where she has over 950,000 followers. She is a popular personality who also serves as brand ambassador for Lululemon.
