Storm Hunter (née Sanders) is an Australian professional tennis player and the World No. 1 ranked doubles player. Storm is a grand slam champion after winning the 2022 US Open Mixed Doubles title alongside fellow Australian John Peers.
Rockingham-born Storm began playing tennis at the age of six after watching the sport on TV. She has won seven doubles titles on the WTA Tour as well as three singles titles and 13 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
Storm became the World No. 1 in doubles in November 2023 after an impressive run to the semifinals of the WTA Finals in Cancun. Storm's career-high singles ranking is World No. 119, which she achieved in October 2021.
A major milestone in Storm's career came in 2021, when she represented her country at the Tokyo Olympics. At the 2022 Adelaide International, Storm won her third WTA title alongside doubles partners and close friend Ash Barty. She also made the women's doubles semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2022.
Storm closed out her 2022 season is tremendous form, playing a pivotal role on both the singles and the doubles court to lead Australia to the Billie Jean King Cup final.
In 2023, Storm made the women's doubles final at Wimbledon partnering Belgium's Elise Mertens, while also qualifying for the Wimbledon singles main draw. After an incredible season, Storm qualified for her maiden WTA Tour Finals in doubles, partnering Mertens. The pair reached the semifinals, which secured Storm's place at the top of the doubles world rankings.
