Ashleigh Gardner

Ashleigh “Ash” Gardner is a cricket superstar who made her international debut for Australia in 2017.

A dominant domestic performer for New South Wales and the Sydney Sixers, the Bankstown-born all-rounder has risen to become one of the world’s best and most exciting cricketers.

Ash was a member of the 2020 T20 World Cup-winning side who defeated India in front of a record crowd of 86,174 at the MCG, having earlier become the first ever Indigenous Australian Woman to play in a Cricket World Cup for Australia.

In 2022, she was recognized for her outstanding achievements by Cricket Australia by being named Belinda Clark Medallist, before winning the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand where she and her teammates went undefeated.

In 2024, Ash once again was named Belinda Clark Medallist, further solidifying herself as one of the games great, after a dominant year in all 3 formats of the game.

A proud Muruwari woman, Ash continues to inspire the next generation and recently launched her own foundation – Ashleigh Gardner Foundation – which aims to make a difference in the lives of young Aboriginal children across the country.

An accomplished public speaker, she is one of Nike Australia’s most prominent female ambassador athletes who also represented her country at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
