Kyle Chalmers Partners with Amaysim to Launch 'Speedy Skill Challenge'

4 July 2025

The Idea

Amaysim, a leading Australian mobile service provider, sought to expand into the home internet market by launching its NBN service. To differentiate itself in a competitive landscape, Amaysim aimed to create an engaging campaign that highlighted its commitment to speed, affordability, and customer satisfaction. The objective was to resonate with a broad audience by associating the brand with attributes of speed and excellence.

Solution

Recognising the need for a relatable and inspiring figure, W Sports & Media partnered Amaysim with Olympic champion swimmer Kyle Chalmers, renowned for his incredible speed in the pool.

This collaboration led to the creation of the 'Speedy Skill Challenge,' a nationwide social media competition inviting Australians to showcase their unique speedy talents. Participants were encouraged to submit videos displaying any swift skill, from rapid pie-eating to fast-paced rapping, embodying the campaign's spirit of fun and inclusivity.

Kyle actively participated in the campaign, lending his personality and humour to the promotional content. He appeared in commercials and social media posts, challenging the public to outpace him in various activities, thereby humanising the brand and fostering a deeper connection with the audience.

Outcome

The 'Speedy Skill Challenge' successfully engaged a wide demographic, generating significant user-generated content and social media buzz. The campaign not only increased brand visibility but also positioned Amaysim as a customer-centric provider offering high-quality, affordable NBN services. The grand prize of $5,000 and five years of free Amaysim NBN service further incentivised participation, enhancing the campaign's reach and impact.
