The Adelaide Crows closely monitored Karl's development over the years, recognizing his potential. After once again demonstrating his skills during the All-Ireland Gaelic football semi-final in 2023, Karl received an invitation to participate in a pre-season trial with the Crows before Christmas.
Impressing the coaching staff and scouts during the pre-season trial, Karl swiftly secured a spot with Adelaide, signing as a Category B rookie for the upcoming 2024 AFL season.
